Nicholas Kristof Connects Church Sex Crimes with The Refusal To Ordain Women

It’s kind of an add-on line to the whole piece, which you should definitely read. It details a string of abuses of children by pastors in the Southern Baptist Convention and then nods to the much better-known (and still emerging) revelations of abuse in the Roman Catholic Church before stating the obvious:

I suspect it’s no accident that these crimes emerged in denominations that do not ordain women and that relegate them to second-class status.
